The Junior Writer's Bug Festival is coming to your school! We will be zipping to schools in Mumbai in our School Caravan and pitching tents there to reach out to more children and give them a flavour of the actual thing — The Junior Writer's Bug Festival, which takes place in December. We share the passion and dedication that schools show when it comes to encouraging children to read and write. And what better way to support this endeavour than to make them a part of the enriching experience of The JWB Festival? These schools will become hubs for some exciting literary and creative activities prior to The Festival. The School Caravan is just one of the many ways in which The Festival is engaging with schools. Here are some others:
Storyscape is a creative writing contest conducted in partnership with Hindustan Times. Entries were accepted in two categories: age 8 to 10 years, and age 10 to 12 years. The top twenty-five entries from each category will have the wonderful opportunity to attend an exclusive workshop by the HT editorial team, at The Festival. All the fifty semi-finalists will participate in a final, on-the-spot competition from which three best stories from each category will be selected for publication in HT.
Agon is a highly-competitive inter-school contest in debating. Top ten schools will clash in a fierce battle of ideas and opinions on the very arena of The Festival.
Five schools have been chosen as hubs for our School Caravan. Children from participating schools will be able to attend sessions at the nearest hub school conducted by authors, illustrators and storytellers as well as interact with them personally. Apart from getting a feel of The Festival, they will also have the chance to meet students from other schools and exchange ideas with them.
Your School at The Festival
Schools can nominate students who will attend The Festival on the 7th and 8th of December, as participants. These students will have the opportunity to take part in age-appropriate sessions and workshops and interact with our enthusiastic team of authors, illustrators, storytellers and artists.
If your school would like to participate, please drop us a line at email@example.com.
The Writer's Bug thanks all the participating schools for their support.
